Bryan Bengston

Chief Financial Officer

Bryan brings over twenty-five years of senior executive level business experience and knowledge to Wowio, Inc. (Wowio). Bryan has been the Chief Financial Officer and worked with growth stage companies looking to create and profitably implement their strategic plan. Previously, Bryan was the Chief Financial Officer at Ironhawk Technologies, Inc. (Ironhawk), a developer of software for the Department of Defense. Bryan led Ironhawk’s finance, investing, accounting, legal and risk management operations and was a key member of the management team that was responsible for developing and executing Ironhawk’s overall growth strategy, including negotiating contracts with the Department of Defense and large government contractors.

 

Prior to Ironhawk, while at Starving Students, Inc. (Starving Students) a large local moving company, Bryan was the Chief Financial Officer and key member of the turnaround management team that led the company to significant profitability in 2004, 2005 and 2006 after several consecutive years of substantial losses. During his tenure at Starving Students, Bryan negotiated and restructured pre-existing debt instruments to obtain cash flow relief as well as negotiated and put in place a new operating financing facility.   

 

Before his role at Starving Students, Bryan was the Vice President of Finance at Shopzilla (Formerly BizRate.com), an on-line comparison shopping website. During his time at Shopzilla, Bryan was responsible for managing and building the Finance and Administration department of a company that was experiencing significant growth. During a six-month period, Bryan implemented financial internal controls and processes as Shopzilla’s headcount doubled in size.

 

To begin his professional career, Bryan spent fifteen years at Ernst & Young LLP (E&Y), a large international professional services organization. While at E&Y, Bryan was an executive in the audit department specializing in Securities and Exchange Commission rules and regulations work and companies in the Retail and Consumer Products industry. In addition, Bryan spent two years in the National Office of E&Y creating and developing the Audit Methodology and Service Delivery Process implemented by all practice offices in the United States.

 

Bryan is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in the state of California and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an option in Accounting Theory and Practice from California State University Northridge.

 

Bryan is a native of Southern California and currently resides in Northridge.
